Art City is seeking an energetic and caring individual experienced with children/youth to join our Summer Camp team. The Program Coordinator will contribute to daily delivery of summer camp programming, and will work closely with our team to lead art projects, develop program content, organize camp-wide logistics, and train and supervise volunteers. Art City is seeking an energetic and caring individual to join our Summer Camp team. The Camp Counsellor position is an exciting opportunity to lead community-based artistic programming in St. James Town. Counsellors will contribute to developing and leading arts projects, mentoring and supervising small groups of children and youth, and leading games and excursions. View position details

  • Support program delivery

  • Assist with set-up and clean-up
  • Provide specialized one-on-one support to individuals who need it 
  • Provide expertise to help guide personalized program plan
  • Help teach lessons to an individual

  • We offer this in a couple of options
    • Specialist commits to the full program by coming one day a week for the whole term 
    • Specialist commits to a full week of programming (4 days in one week) 
    • Specialist drop-in, choosing 2 days in a month

If you are taking a placement program, consider completing your work/field placement with us! You work closely with our management to gain experience and knowledge in:

  • Co-facilitating programming, including program planning
  • Assisting with program and activity design (including games and warm-up exercises) 
  • Assisting with program preparation and material procurement 
  • Providing one-on-one support to individual students who wish/require 
  • Acting as volunteer lead, supporting delivery of orientation and training sessions 
  • Supporting policy and procedure development, including research

Skills building

Volunteers learn teaching skills and have the opportunity to work with our students.
