Art City is seeking an energetic and caring individual to join our Summer Camp team. The Camp Counsellor role is an exciting opportunity to lead community-based artistic programming in St. James Town. Counsellors will develop and lead art projects, mentor and supervise groups of children and youth, and lead them through games and excursions. 

At Art City we use art as a tool to foster sense of self-worth and confidence, encourage positive self-expression, and nurture community. We are passionate abut using art as a tool to build resilience and find joy! Our Summer Camp is a fun packed arts-based day camp for children and youth (ages 5-15) and is entirely free of charge to families! 

Camp Counsellors will be a big part of making our Summer Camp a memorable and meaningful experience for campers. Counsellors will collaborate to create program content, teach art projects, provide one-on-one and group support, lead games and activities, supervise lunch and excursions and keep the classroom safe and organized. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will have the skills necessary to delivery arts programming to children and youth. They will enjoy community-based hands-on programming in a diverse community. 

Requirements: 

• Passion for arts/arts programming 
• Experience working with children/youth (ages 5-15) 
• Responsible both independently and as a team player 
• Flexibility to work in-person and from home 
• Vulnerable Sector Check and First Aid Certification (CPR-C) or willingness to acquire
• Familiarity with social media platforms, video-editing and YouTube an asset 
• Familiarity with Canva an asset

Compensation Range: $20-$27/hr

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our small and vibrant team. The Project Manager position is an exciting opportunity to lead a broad portfolio of strategic projects, with an emphasis on fundraising development. The Project Manager will work closely with Executive Director and Board of Directors to manage and implement fundraising plans, oversee small teams in the delivery of projects, conduct project evaluation and record management, and develop tools to support additional organizational priorities.

Art City in St. James Town (Art City) is a much-loved neighbourhood arts organization that has served the St. James Town community for over 25 years. Our small team provides free arts education programs and believes that art has the power to empower children and youth. We use art to foster a sense of self-worth and confidence, encourage positive self-expression and exploration, and nurture community. We are passionate about using art as a tool to build resilience. The successful candidate will have the skills necessary to manage multiple projects concurrently and work with a small group to achieve a large impact. They should be passionate about the impact of community-based programming in a diverse community.

Requirements: 

• Passion about community based arts programming 
• 3 years experience in Project Management, including project evaluation and record keeping 
• Experience within fundraising and events, including knowledge of industry best practices and policy 
• Responsible independent and team-player 
• Flexibility to work both in-person and virtually (32/weeks)
• Familiarity with Canva, Social Media and CRM tools an asset
• Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to acquire 

• Execute Art City’s Fundraising Plans and manage related fundraising and strategic projects 
• Plan, coordinate and facilitate relevant community programming and events related to fundraising 
• Maintain donor relationships and records 
• Report project updates to Board of Directors and assign tasks to Directors and the ED as required 
• Create a volunteer team to support project implementation; manage the volunteer team including coordinating, supervising and delegating tasks 
• Support social media collateral and content development related to identified projects

Educators will develop art education curriculum and teaching aids, plan, prepare and facilitate lessons, mentor students and supervise  classes. Art Educators will work closely with the Executive Director to support additional organizational priorities.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will have the skills necessary to deliver arts programming to children and youth. They will enjoy community-based, hands-on programming in a diverse community. 

Requirements: 

• Passion for arts/arts programming 

• At least 3 years experience working with children/youth (ages 5-15) 

• Responsible independent and team-player 

• Flexibility to work both in-person and virtually, full-time (~32/week) 

• Familiarity with social media platforms, video editing and youtube an asset 

• Familiarity with Canva an asset

• Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to acquire 

• First-Aid Certification (CPR-C) or willingness to acquire 

Responsibilities: 

• Independently plan curriculum and develop related teaching aids and materials 

• Mentor daily classes of 30+ children/youth (5-16 years) through Social-Emotional-Artistic Learning and foster Art City’s values 

• Plan, prepare and facilitate relevant community programming and events

• Manage inventory of classroom and teaching supplies

• Maintain studio and classroom space to manage risk effectively and ensure safety of all users

• Collaborate with and delegate volunteers 

• Support social media management and content development 

• Assist ED with special projects related to strategic priorities
